Review the similarity scores! The similarity scores provide a great insight into how dense the associations are with the secret word! It helps indicate how niche the secret word is and how precise you must be before you are close.
Start broad! Start with general words to try to find the general area the secret word belongs. If you start with specific words, you’ll likely build a myopic picture of what the secret word may be.
In a similar vein, unless close, do not waste guesses on synonyms. Do not use words that can be interchangeable. It is best to build a dataset with more varied words than similar ones.
When fairly close, probably around a couple hundred words, guess words that can narrow whether it's an action, object, idea, adjective/adverb.
Lastly, be quick to abandon poor guesses! Trust the similarity scoring. Stick with your best guess!

I love photography. It's not any intrinsic talent that attracts me to the hobby, I am not a great photographer. I love photography because it is an interdisciplinary art and science. It bridges so many technical and cultural interests of mine. The hobby has taken me all over the United States, sleeping in tents, cars and on couches. I have seen the diversity of our country, in culture and geography, and I have learned much about our history and what makes each region unique.
I want to emphasize the importance of history when it comes to photography. I believe that every photo taken is a matter of historical record. I made a game based upon that belief. Chronophoto, is a simple webgame where the player attempts to guess what year a given photo was taken. That webgame went viral, and funds my real life photography. Since then I have embarked on several life-long goals with photography. A few examples include: visiting every US state and capturing a photo album of each one; a coffee table book of dozing dogs titled “Let Sleeping Dogs Lie”; and contributing yearly photos to my webgame.
